On behalf of the entire Abdali Psc team, it is a pleasure to introduce you to Abdali, a pioneering urban project that will be the pride of Jordan's capital, a new downtown reflective of the great people of this country. Amman is going through an unprecedented period of change. More people, more jobs and more activity in Amman means building at higher densities, but also creating places and spaces where people want to live, work and play.
This project is the fruit of years of planning based on a local vision, and supported by HM King Abdullah II from the onset. The new Abdali downtown will be the stellar landmark of Amman, as it transforms the Abdali area into a thriving high quality urban destination. It is the first urban regeneration project of its size in the city, and comes as a result of the successful synergy created through a public/private partnership, and a strong belief in the potential of Amman, Jordan, and its people.
Today, you see our vision starting to be realized as you drive by the Abdali new downtown location. The transformation of the 384,000 m2 of land into residential and commercial areas, retail outlets, and cultural as well as entertainment facilities is well underway. Most of all, it has been developed with sustainability in mind. The utmost effort was placed in the formation and development of this national project, by creating a people friendly, smart downtown, delivering state-of-the-art technologies to each and every location within it. Only by improving the quality of the environment – its buildings and public spaces – and the quality of services, will we succeed in making this new urban downtown more attractive, safe and viable.
As Jordan grows, Abdali promises to play a key role in this development, pushing the country and its people into tomorrow with blossoming potential and exceeding all expectations. We are positive that by 2010, with the core of the project complete, Abdali will become a source of pride for Jordan and its people, and an object of aspiration for all its visitors.
